1. Proef bij Platenburg
Wijnkoperij Platenburg has been a household name in Rotterdam for years (130 years!). This wine shop offers the best wines, gifts and tastings. In 2023, they opened a wine bar next to the shop.
Wine bar Proef (near Platenburg) offers a versatile experience, from a relaxed glass of wine at the bar to a complete evening out. With a selection of fifty open wines and delicious Mediterranean-influenced dishes, it is the perfect place for wine lovers.
With a strong reputation in Rotterdam and a top five ranking in the “Winebar of the Year 2023/2024” election, Proef offers a range of wines and personal service for connoisseurs and novices alike. The tasting room connects the premises with a walk-in climate room full of top wines from around the world.

2. Côte du Cool
Several years ago, entrepreneurs Rick van Laar and Joyce Cornelissen started importing wines from small wineries, with a preference for organic wines. In the past year, they have reached another milestone with the establishment of Côte du Cool, an atmospheric wine bar and wine shop located in Little C.
Côte du Cool is a nod to coastal France at Coolhaven in Rotterdam. Come here to enjoy a refined glass of wine accompanied by a well-stocked drinks board. Don’t expect a three-course menu, but bread from a real French baker, small bites and a new cheese board every week to match the wines of the week.
All the wines you taste here, you simply buy in the wine shop afterwards! They import about 90% of the wines themselves, so they really know the winemakers and know that they work with respect for nature.
Tip: they often organise tastings with special themes, great for an outing!

3. Bar Cult
Good news for (natural) wine lovers! Pink neon letters welcome you to Bar Cult, located on Oostkousdijk. You don’t have to be a wine connoisseur (exactly) to feel at home here, everyone is welcome!
Owner Rutger has gained a lot of knowledge about natural wine over the past decade and is happy to pour it for you from behind the bar. Cult has no set menu, so the choice is tailored to what you fancy. They serve 30-40 wines by the glass and, in addition, the wine cellar holds some 1,500 bottles from all sorts of countries.
The drinks menu has been kept simple, as natural wines take centre stage. But think bread from the baker with homemade butter, cheese from the cheese farm and sausage from the market.

4. Wine Bar Walsjérôt
A new hotspot for wine lovers: Wine bar Walsjérôt in Blijdorp. Whether you are just a casual wine drinker or a real wine connoisseur, with a choice of more than 70 wines you are in the right place!
The unique concept of Walsjérôt works as follows: upon arrival you put an amount of your choice on a card. With this card you can then go to the tap wall. Yes, you heard that right: this bar has a wall where you can pour your own wine!
After you have chosen the wine, hold your card for the wine taps and choose from a sip, a whole glass or half a glass and tap the wine you want yourself! Tasting is encouraged at Walsjérôt.
Each wine is provided with a card with a description of the grape variety, origin and taste.

5. Wine Bar Het Eigendom
A wine bar that should not be missing from this list! Wine bar Het Eigendom is located in a historic building on an ideal location, namely in the cultural heart of Rotterdam: Witte de Withstraat.
It is a great place in Rotterdam to have a drink. The menu has an extensive selection of fine wines.
You can also enjoy a delicious dinner at Wijnbar Het Eigendom. They serve small dishes with French and Mediterranean influences. It is possible to order the dishes in courses, of course with a matching wine suggestion.
They also offer a 5, 6 or 7-course surprise menu, composed by the Chef. Wonderful to combine with a wine arrangement!

6. Wine Bar De Avonden
In the heart of the Kleiwegkwartier in Hillegersberg you can find Wijnbar De Avonden. In this cozy bar you can enjoy draft beer, (non-alcoholic) co*cktails, good coffee and of course special wines.

7. De Kunstfabriek | Unit699

De Kunstfabriek | Unit699 is a new innovative (natural) wine bar and art gallery, located in the heart of Rotterdam. Hidden in the courtyard of the Groot Handelsgebouw, a place has been created here where natural wine, art and creativity come together.
At the front, room has been made for the gallery. Different concepts, ideologies and thoughts are exhibited here. At the back is a hidden bar. Here Japanese tea is served during the day and everyone can always settle down for eccentric natural wines. An extraordinary new hotspot in Rotterdam!

8. Le Nord

Another great place for wine is Bistrot and wine shop Le Nord on Proveniersstraat. At Le Nord they mainly focus on unique wines: from classic to natural wines and for every occasion.
At Le Nord you can so wine and dine. Choose something from the a la carte menu or go for the changing Menu du Chef. Expect tasty, uncomplicated food with respect for nature, prepared with sustainable, fresh ingredients.
TIP: Have a look in the Le Nord wine shop. Here they also let you taste and experience the wines before you buy it!

9. Louise Bar À Vins
Louise Bar À Vins is the little sister of Louse Petit Restaurant, a French bistro which you will find right next door. At Bar À Vins, the focus is on, how surprising, wine! In a romantic setting overlooking the Veerhaven harbour, this is a great place to enjoy a good glass of wine.

Another great wine bar in Hillegersberg: Abrazo. The extensive wine list offers a lot of delicious options: from a Verdejo from Spain to a Malbec from Argentina.

13. ‘t Ouwe Bruggetje
This restaurant with a beautiful green facade can be found in Historisch Delfshaven. Restaurant ‘t Ouwe Bruggetje & Wijnwinkel has a lovely terrace on the water.
Here you can dine with a wine arrangement. Besides being a restaurant, they also have their own wine import: Domaine Z. They get the wines themselves from the winery and these are exclusive in the Netherlands. It is also possible to buy the wines to drink at home.

14. Wine Bar Janssen en van Dijk
Another beautiful wine bar! Wijnbar Janssen en van Dijk can be found on Westewagenstraat. Here you order delicious wines and tasty snacks to share with friends.
There is always a cozy atmosphere here. The interior has something classic, with lots of dark wood and large chandeliers.

15. Vineum
One of the best wine bars in Rotterdam is Vineum on the Eendrachtsweg. In 2016, Vineum’s wine list was even named “Best Medium-Size Wine List” by the British World of Fine Wine.

20. Barlou
You will find this gem on the Benthuizerstraat: Barlou. You can enjoy good food and drinks here from Thursday to Sunday. It is located in a beautiful building and there is a casual atmosphere. The perfect place to start your weekend. Or to celebrate its ending on a Sunday!
The wine list has many nice choices, such as a verdejo from Spain, a sauvignon blanc from France and a Nero di Troia from Italy. They also have champagne, specialty beer and co*cktails on the drink menu.
Of course they have snacks as well, such as kimchi croquettes and cheese sticks. But be sure to visit Barlou for lunch (on weekends) or dinner. A small selection of the food menu: shakshuka, fried burrata, camembert with dates from the oven and a halloumi burger.
